Single Channel Video. 4:16 minutes. 2024.

Autumn’s Embrace is a dance for camera work which emphasizes the dancer’s connection with the natural world. This film investigates concepts of hibernation and rebirth. Introduced by a poem spoken in first person, the desire for the winds to shift and for quiet sleep to arrive is expressed in the dancer’s movements as she traverses boulders and trees, until finally entering river, and after a transformative struggle she ultimately finds rest as she floats downstream.
