Single Channel Video. 5 minutes. 2025.

Orchard is a dance-for-camera piece which tells the story of the Central Valley’s almond orchard’s pollination practices and the effect that having such huge mono-cultures have on bee populations – it is now normal for 30% of the bees to die. In this work a dancer celebrates the bees outside a very busy hive -the bees are busily pollinating the flowering almond trees. She then makes a shallow grave and buries a few dozen of the tiny bees bodies littered outside the hive, victims to the industrial scale of their work.
